Originally thought to have been erected by the Guild of Cutlers in the 15th century, with an open ground floor for meetings and as a marketplace. Some historians believe that it was built as a Moot Hall. Sitting at the top of Town Street, the Guildhall is a grade 1 Listed building that has seen a variety of uses in its long life and currently contains a small museum and meeting room.
