Built by Thomas Paycocke , a woollen cloth merchant in the 16th century, for his bride Margaret Harrold. Adapting an older mediaeval hall, the resulting timber-framed Tudor house has many beautifully carved beams inside and out, several of which carry the initials of the bride and groom.
